This is a fragmentary series of documents relating to military and education matters within the state from the late eighteenth through the nineteenth century. They apparently were kept by the Legislature to document the state's actions in these two fundamental areas of government.

It is unclear exactly how these volumes came into the State's possession. They may have been forwarded to the Adjutant General who in turn transferred them to the State Library; the State Library then transferred the volumes to the State Archives in the spring of 1978. A second possibility is that the volumes could have been donated to the Bureau of Military Statistics. In 1911 and 1912 the Adjutant General's Office transferred a large number of items collected by the bureau to the State Library...

The 332nd Infantry Regiment was part of the 83rd Division, which was deployed overseas in June 1918. After training in France the regiment was detached for service as army and corps troops, and on July 25 it moved, with the 331st Field Hospital, to Villafranca, Custoza, and Sommacompagna, Italy. In October the regiment participated in the Vittorio-Veneto Operation (Italy).
